Just some footage I cut together and edited digitally to produce music videos for some of my tracks.
Heartplay – Lou
I created this video by fooling around with iMovie in 2023. I used some of my father's old Super 8 material filmed in the early '70s. I love how the rawness of this vintage 8mm footage of masculine construction work contemplates the chavvy raw & analogue lo-fi sound of my music–which in itself could have been recorded at a construction site–and how the moving image's minute details go along well without adding too many cuts for rhythmic purposes.
My father digitalised the tape by filming his projector's screen with a Video 8 camera before he could transfer it to harddrive. That must have been at some point in the '90s.
The music is the A1 track of my 002 12" vinyl self-release from 2016, mastered by Matt Colton @ Alchemy.
Filmed by Renzo & Remo Fornari and Stelio Baxa. Cut & edited by Patrick Fornari.
Screened at Lusofest Summer Shorts (Part 2) on June 14th, 2025 on the premises of 57Nord in Offenbach am Main, closing this editon of the festival with a following Q&A.
Screened at The Working Class Film Festival on May 10th, 2026 at the showroom in Sheffield, UK, within the scope of The Lab Class programme focussing on experimental film.
Heartplay – Lou Gone Out
The A2 track of the same release, this time treating innocence & childhood, it's two cousins of mine fooling around in the snow with one of them FAFOing, while I am doing my own thing, as always. The method is the same I used for the A1 track video, only that here, I played around with a little more cuts, but still kept the whole thing together as it is mostly.
Filmed by Remo Fornari. Cut & edited by Patrick Fornari.
